What Happened with Prince Harry & David Beckham with the World Cup?

The World Cup is coming to the United States, Mexico, and Canada, and with the England team playing in the US, some have theorized that we could see Prince Harry present at some England games, including, perhaps, a possible final if the team can make it that far.

But now, Hollywood insider Rob Shuter is reporting that Harry won’t be on the list for the final because of one very important guest, David Beckham. Yes, the two men reportedly had a falling out that would keep Harry from the game.

“This isn’t about room on the guest list,” an insider told Shuter. “Football picked its prince years ago, and that prince is David Beckham.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were once close to David and Victoria Beckham, but the two couples are reportedly not close after Harry and Meghan accused the Beckhams of leaking stories to the press.

“David never forgave it,” an insider said. “The accusation destroyed the trust. Once that happened, there was no coming back.”

And since, apparently, in the British royal family, if you’re not on one side, you’re on the other, David and Victoria have since then become close with William and Kate.

“The Beckhams chose William, and Harry knew exactly what that meant,” a source explained. “The relationship has been over for years.”

Reportedly, that means Harry and Meghan won’t be getting an invite to the final. “If football has to choose between Beckham and Harry, it’s not even a debate,” a source said. “Beckham is football royalty. Harry is yesterday’s news.”

Of course, the final might not even feature England. And not getting an invite doesn’t mean Harry couldn’t just procure his own ticket. Plus, Prince Harry still has a chance to watch the three games England will surely play, even if none of them are in California near Harry. He at least doesn’t have to travel that far to watch his country play, and with the state of FIFA World Cup tickets and Harry’s net worth, he can surely afford a ticket to any of the games.

England is set to play on June 17 against Croatia at Dallas Stadium in Arlington, TX, on June 23 vs. Ghana at Boston Stadium in Foxborough, MA, and on June 27 vs. Panama at New York/New Jersey Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The squad is based in Kansas City, Missouri, where they will train and travel to their matches, so a visit there is also a possibility.

Both Prince Harry and Prince William are big football fans, and both support Aston Villa in the Premier League. There is no confirmation of whether Harry is planning to attend any World Cup games, though reports indicate William will.

The Sun reported last year that William is planning to attend England games at the 2026 World Cup. An insider told the outlet, “Wills is planning to come to the US, and we have been told to prepare for what a trip would entail.”

“Interactions between security services and UK/US intelligence teams are in progress,” it was reported then.
