Did Princess Eugenie Snub Prince Andrew & Sarah Ferguson with Baby?

Ever since Princess Eugenie announced she was pregnant with her third child, there have been questions about her relationship with her parents. The two weren’t mentioned in the announcement, or in the royal family’s congratulatory post, and the entire British royal family has gone out of its way to separate itself from Andrew and Fergie, considering their recent scandals.

Now that Eugenie has had the baby, a girl who was born in a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal, on Monday, August 3, the recent reports about the princess trying to keep her parents out of the delivery room resurfaced. And yet RadarOnline is reporting the decision had nothing to do with avoiding the former Duke and Duchess of York.

A family source told the outlet: “There is absolutely no hidden message behind the decision to have the baby in Portugal. Eugenie and Jack have built a genuine life there over the past few years, and by the time the pregnancy reached its final stages it simply made sense for them to remain where they were settled.”

“It should not be interpreted as a snub to Andrew, Sarah or anyone else in the family. This was about what worked best for them as parents and ensuring everything was as calm and straightforward as possible.”

This all comes after Eugenie reportedly banned her parents from the hospital. “Eugenie’s number one priority is having this baby with the absolute minimum of fuss,” a source told the National Examiner in July 2026. “She doesn’t want the hospital turning into a circus and she’s made that very clear.”

Andrew and Fergie were reportedly not happy with Eugenie’s decision. “Andrew is fuming and taking it as a personal insult,” the insider said. “He doesn’t seem to care that if he’s there it will become the main focus, which is the last thing Eugenie wants.”

The baby girl, whose name has not yet been announced, is 15th in the line of succession, behind her mother and older brothers, August Philip Hawke, 5, and Ernest George Ronnie, 3.

Eugenie’s two sons were delivered at the Portland Hospital in London. However, the family has divided time between Britain and Portugal since 2022, due to Brooksbank’s work.

“Over the last few years, Portugal has evolved from being somewhere Eugenie and Jack simply spent time into a place that genuinely feels like home. They’ve built a comfortable family life there, their children are settled, and they appreciate being able to go about their daily routines without the level of scrutiny they experience in Britain,” another source said.

“The decision for the baby to be born in Lisbon was driven entirely by where they were living and what made the most practical sense at this stage of the pregnancy. There was no intention to send a message to the King, Andrew, Sarah or anyone else in the family. It was a personal family decision based on stability, convenience and giving themselves the calmest possible environment to welcome their daughter.”

Buckingham Palace’s announcement of the new royal read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6:20 pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal. The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces.”

The statement also added: “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news.”

Eugenie also posted the news on Instagram, writing: “Jack and I are so excited to announce Baby Girl Brooksbank!! We are beyond in love with our girlie.”
