Every NYC Girl Is Wearing Sabrina Carpenter’s Cozy Coat This Fall

Following a stunning turn playing double duty as host and musical guest on Saturday Night Live last week, the tiny diva stuck around the east coast for some Pittsburgh concerts. Now she’s back in New York, with a lineup of sold-out MSG shows and autumnal fashion moments on her agenda.

Though we’re obviously obsessed with the pop star’s bedazzled stage looks (the blue skyline mini is everything), there’s a piece we’re even most invested in. On Tuesday, October 28, she took a stroll through Brooklyn’s Prospect Park wearing a “listening to Norah Jones”-coded fall outfit consisting of light-wash baggy jeans, a plaid scarf, boots, and a burgundy Celine bag. The pièce de résistance? An oversize black wool coat. The same one that cute girl on the street you saw earlier and decided you’d like to be has, probably.

You might’ve, actually—big cozy coats are nothing new. Still, they seem to have a fresh appeal this year.

Carpenter’s exact coat of choice was Aritzia’s Slouch Coat, from their minimalist and elevated Babaton line. It appears she went with the wool version for maximum coziness (it’s made for temperatures as low as -4°F) and opted for the black colorway over the light brown “cocoa sand.”
