Who’s Lainey Wilson’s Fiancé Duck Hodges?
Don’t let him go! Lainey Wilson‘s fiancé is more than just her lover, he’s her inspiration — just don’t go expecting some mushy love songs. The country singer revealed that he became her muse after debuting their relationship in 2023.
Originally from the small town of Baskinville, Louisiana, Wilson exploded in popularity after several of her songs were featured on Yellowstone in 2019. Since then, she’s released three albums and won multiple awards, including a Grammy and Country Music Associations Entertainer of the Year in 2023 and 2025. Wilson is also an actress, with roles on Yellowstone and in the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s Reminders of Him.
Wilson has been extremely private about her relationships, but her heart opened up on the 2023 ACM’s red carpet. She hinted at her romance, saying, “I am in love… I’m excited to share this side of my life. That’s weird for me, that I’m able to write those kinds of songs. I will say, I don’t think I will ever be the kind of love songwriter that’s going to be mushy, gushy, like pour my heart out to ya.”
Who’s Lainey Wilson’s fiancé?
Lainey Wilson‘s fiancé is Devlin “Duck” Hodges, a real estate agent and a retired NFL player who played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Rams.
The two started dating in 2021, and according to the “Heart Like A Truck” singer, their first date was pretty low-key. “We went to this old place called Silverados, and it had free beer and wine from 5 to 10 p.m.,” she recalled to People in 2023. “I was like, ‘This boy likes to ball on a budget too. This is gonna work out.’”
They made their red carpet debut at the 2023 ACM’s and have made several public appearances together since then.
Wilson and Hodges got engaged in February 2025 at George Jones estate in Franklin, Tennessee. He proposed with a huge diamond ring, nestled inside a box shaped like a cowboy hat. They announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post, sharing photos and videos capturing the heartfelt moment. “4x4xU forever,” the couple wrote in the caption, referring to her hit song of the same name.

The couple doesn’t seem to be in a rush to walk down the aisle, but in September 2025, a source told The Daily Mail that they are hoping to have a “massive country-style wedding” in Nashville.
“That is the best location because she has deep ties there and also Devlin has ties to Alabama, which is only a four hour drive away,” the source said. “It will be sexy country, like a California cowgirl look — so, traditional with a little sassiness thrown in.”
The insider also revealed that there will be live music, specifically “country, jazz, and retro,” and Wilson might even sing as well.

But in April 2026, Wilson told People that she and Hodges haven’t had much time to figure out their exact wedding plans due to their busy schedules.
“We’ve been talking about it, trying to figure it out,” Wilson said. “We just want it to be simple and we want to make that vow to each other and not be stressed out about what the flowers look like. I think we just want it to be about what it’s supposed to be about — and, of course, we’re going to have a dang good time.”
She also hinted that she might write her vows as a poem, adding that she doesn’t want to “show up” Hodges because, who she jokingly suspects will “probably be using ChatGPT” to write his own.
Wilson and Hodges kept their romance private for a long time, and the couple seems eager to keep certain aspects of their relationship to themselves.
“When it comes to mine and Duck’s relationship, there’s going to be some things that we can’t escape and people are going to say and do whatever, but me and him are on the same page about the less we put out there, the less that we’re going to have to deal with people making anything up and saying anything,” she told Billboard in 2024. “We want to keep that as sacred as we possibly can between me and him, and so far, it has worked for us.”
