Darling, do you remember the first Christmas morning you were gifted—or gifted someone—a Charlotte Tilbury product? I do. It was a Beauty Light Wand from my baby sister (she watched the vloggers and knew her stuff!!) and I was entranced.

“When I started this brand, gifting makeup was not a thing,” the eponymous brand founder and celebrity makeup artist tells Byrdie.

But now it is! And so much of that has to do with what Tilbury has created.

This year, her holiday setup is more dazzling than ever. The Magic Gifting Universe Holiday Collection really is magic—and really is its own universe!—full of new products, old favorites, and characters like the Celine Dion stopping by to serenade you. Selections are categorized into three worlds that’ll help so much when it comes to Secret Santa budgets: Trinkets ($40 and under), Treats ($85 and under), or Treasures (more than $105).

Ahead, discover everything there is to know about the collection, its corresponding campaign, the new scent (!), and Tilbury and Dion’s relationship. The icons themselves gave us every last glamorous detail.

The Campaign

Tilbury and Dion celebrated the collection’s launch with a campaign video dubbed “Planet Star Confidence.”

“Being on set with Charlotte was so much fun. Her vibrant energy made it feel more like a party than a shoot!” Dion tells Byrdie. “This campaign celebrates the power confidence gives us to feel strong and become the best version of ourselves.”

Given her 34-year career as makeup artist to the stars, Tilbury already had an organic relationship with the singer. She’d designed her makeup looks for her Vegas residency and Paris Olympics performance, not to mention countless editorials.

“Having been there for all those amazing moments, and then finally to do a collection with her … she’s an icon. There really is, truly, no one like her,” the makeup artist says. “It just felt like this natural history we have between us. We adore each other. She really inspires the world with her voice and my products inspire the world to make [people] feel good and and empower them.”

The Collaboration

Tilbury explains that Dion immediately felt like the “most perfect fit” for the campaign. It’s not hard to understand why. Both artists cater to everyone, with fans younger than 18, older than 80, and everywhere in between. The Grammy winner also understands the “power of makeup” and has a whole suite of her own application tips and tricks. Tilbury said that she seems to know the brand’s website better than anyone at times, and is always involved in her look.

“She has extraordinary strength. Her humor, her heart, her voice, her story has touched so many millions of people. She really embodies the belief that you can achieve anything in life,” Tilbury notes.

“Charlotte and I have worked together many times over the years, including during my Las Vegas residency, so bringing the iconic Vegas horse to London for ‘Planet Star Confidence’ felt like the perfect full-circle moment,” Dion adds. “As Charlotte herself said, it truly was written in the stars!”

The Inspiration

Tilbury says she is “obsessed with the holidays.” Dion is, too.

The holidays for me are all about spending time with my family,” explains the singer. “It’s cozy, simple, and full of love. We’ll cook a big meal, exchange little gifts, take our annual ski trip and just enjoy being together. For me, that’s the best gift of all, slowing down and making memories together.”

This season especially, Tilbury thinks there’s an extra call for a little levity. She wants customers to lean into those cozy feelings and realize how brilliant life can be.

“Christmas is that time of year where everyone takes a break to remember that it’s all about love and it’s all about family. It’s all about giving back,” she says. “We are here for such a short period of time in life, and we’re living such busy, crazy lives that we just need to stop and go, ‘I am alive.’ It’s that euphoric feeling of just loving life and and remembering to that you are alive. [The collection and campaign] just felt perfectly timed.”

The New Fragrance

The campaign’s biggest icon (besides the actual icon) is a new fragrance. The warm floral scent is called Charlotte Tilbury’s Star Confidence, and it’ll make you feel like a confident star.

“It’s all about unlocking that style of confidence in everyone, which [Dion] has and imbues in a massive way,” Tilbury says. “For me, it was like, what does she embody and what is this whole collection about? We are all stars, and now NASA knows, we are 98% stardust. So, how do we bring out that inner star in all of us?”

The scent, which comes in an orange glass bottle, features notes of vibrant blackcurrant, dewy jasmine, and magnetic oakmoss. In clinical trials, 82% of testers agreed that enhances feelings of confidence and 89% agreed it “unleashed the life force within them.” It’s a chase-you-down-on-the-street-and-ask-what-you’re-wearing-before-offering-you-the-opportunity-of-a-lifetime kind of scent.

“I always think the only reason someone doesn’t unlock their dreams is confidence. A lot of people have dreams, but they don’t get to them,” Tilbury adds. “We need to feel alive, and we all need Star Confidence to make us feel empowered and happy and achieve our dreams. It really goes back to the motto of this brand, which I think we both stand for: “Dare to dream it, dare to do it, dare to believe it.”

The Rest of the Collection

When I tell you this holiday collection is big. It’s not big, it’s massive. There’s something (multiple things!) for everyone to love.

Tilbury jokes that Pillow Talk is the “get you what you want” product. She’s heard countless stories of good things happening to people wearing the shade. First dates that lead to marriages, job offers after great interviews.

“It’s so great and hearing those stories from so many different people, sometimes it’s taken them out of negative situations. They cling to the lipstick like, ‘I can do this,'” she explains. “They kind of know that if they’ve got Pillow Talk, they’re gonna win.”

Thus, plenty of the treats in the collection are Pillow Talk-heavy. There’s even a collectible velvet vault of 14 full-size products, the Pillow Talk Dreams Come True set.

But the brand has everything else going on, too. Think mini skincare sets, stocking stuffer-size setting sprays, brushes, and even a brand-new palette that features “everything you need to create a full look in minutes.” It’s called the Hollywood Instant Look in a Palette, and comes complete with three eyeshadows, setting powder, bronzer, matte blush, and glowy blush.
