Giving Back to the Source – Earth Day

This Earth Month, dive deep into where our award-winning botanical formulas come from + how we give back to the land that makes it all possible.

Wendy grew up in Tasmania Australia, surrounded by botanicals; fields of opium poppies, a contract her Father owned in producing morphine. Connected to the surrounding elements, Wendy learned from a young age that what the earth produces, is almost always more powerful than what a laboratory can replicate. That instinct has guided every formula she has ever made.

Just look at our ingredients lists: you’ll see silk and wasabi sourced from Japan. Macadamia and Tee Tree  from Australia. Botanical Root Juices, Tucuma and Pracaxi , along with many other local native botanicals, wild-harvested from the Amazon rainforest floor. It’s what gives our products the high-performance they are known for, with that weightless sumptuous texture, without a trace of buildup unlike traditional care products.

Each ingredient is chosen by hand and curated by Wendy and her discerning eye: raw, virgin, traceable. And she prioritizes sourcing them responsibly, with respect to the land, from the places that grow them best. But seeking them out with intention is only the beginning.

We’re proud to share our ongoing partnership with Sir David Attenborough’s World Land Trust – an international conservation charity protecting and restoring threatened habitats since 1989. Working with trusted local partners, they plant native trees each month into areas of the Amazon devastated by logging. They then nurture each by hand, weekly, for three years. This has lead to 95% survival rate in one of the most ecologically complex ecosystems on earth.

At Iles Formula, we’re proud that our commitment goes beyond intentionality and ingredients. As we grow, so does our contribution, returning life and abundance to the source of our most precious botanical treasures.

The planet provides. We give back.
